Why the new website?

Crown Street Roasting Company not only specializes in making delicious food and drinks, but also in selling specialty coffee to both customers and wholesale partners. Different website platforms tend to be better for some types of business and not as well suited to other types of businesses.

This makes it so that businesses who offer a variety of services and products are faced with a dilemma. That is:

  1. Pick one website platform and have the website be more focused on one aspect of the business.
  2. Use a mix of platforms that each are optimal for the different aspects of the business.

It’s a tricky choice. Up until now, our website has gone with the first option with more of a focus on the food and drinks side of our business. This has resulted in a good experience for ordering food and drinks but made the coffee bean ordering experience for both customers and wholesale partners not as seamless as we would like.

That changes with our new website. We built out a new website experience for ordering coffee beans (both wholesale and retail) while maintaining our normal food and drink menu that you know and love.

This decision will lead to the best possible experience whether you are looking to place a pickup order for lunch or are a wholesale customer looking to place a bean order.

What does that mean for me?

If you are used to using our website for placing food and drink orders, your experience won’t change at all!

If you are used to using our website to order coffee beans, the experience will be nicer than it was before!

If you are a wholesale customer who had to send emails to place wholesale orders before, you now have the option to request a wholesale account right on our website and will be able to see up to date wholesale prices and place orders for shipment, pickup, or local delivery quickly and easily right from our website!

That sounds great! Will there be any negative consequences for me as a customer due to the new website?

In almost every situation we believe the new website will result in a much better experience for you! There will be two situations that occur due to using two different website platforms that we will address below.

  1. Gift cards previously purchased will be able to be used for anything (food, drinks, coffee beans, merch, etc.) when in store. Gift cards will still be able to be used to buy food and drinks online. Gift cards will not be able to be used to purchase coffee beans directly from our new website. This is because our online coffee bean sales are using a different provider. If this was your intended reason for getting a gift card, you can send us a message and we will provide you a link to order beans with our old system so that you can still use your gift card as intended.
  2. Loyalty points will still be acquired when purchasing anything in store. Loyalty points will still be acquired when ordering food and drinks from our website. Loyalty points will not be acquired when purchasing coffee beans or merchandise from our new website. Again, this is due to the different platform that the new website uses. We do plan on releasing an online bean/merchandise specific loyalty system in the future!

I’m a wholesale customer and am excited to try the new website! What do I do?

It’s easy to get started with a wholesale account! Here’s the steps to get your wholesale account:

  1. Click the “Wholesale” tab across the top of the website.
  2. Scroll down and click “Request an Account”.
  3. Fill out the short form and click “Create”.
  4. You will receive an email letting you know that your account application is under review.
  5. Once we approve the account, you will receive a confirmation email and an email to activate your account. In this email, click, “Activate your account here”.
  6. This will bring you to a screen where you will be asked to create your password. Once you type in your password and type it a second time to confirm it, click “Activate account”.
  7. That's it! At this point you can navigate to the wholesale tab, and click “View Products” to see all of the wholesale prices and place orders! In the future just log in with your email and password!

I’m a customer who normally buys my beans on the website. How will my experience change?

You will still be able to buy all your coffee beans for pickup or delivery. You will also be able to log in to see your order history. You will also now have a new way to save by signing up for a coffee subscription!

Are there any discounts/order thresholds/fulfillment options I should know about?

Yes!

For Retail Customers:

  • Free shipping on orders over $50!
  • 5% Discount when you subscribe!

For Wholesale Customers:

  • Local Delivery available as a fulfillment option within 30 miles of our shop!
  • Free Local Delivery on orders over $300!

What are my fulfillment options?

For Retail Customers:

  • Carrier fulfilled delivery (Free shipping over $50!)
  • Free in store pickup

For Wholesale Customers:

  • Carrier fulfilled delivery
  • Local Delivery within 30 miles of our shop (Free local delivery for order over $300!)
  • Free in store pickup
