Crown Street was born in Jamestown, and its success is rooted in our community’s love and support. When we bought Crown and made it our own, one of the biggest selling points for us was that it’s located in the city we love. Some might ask, why Jamestown? Like any city, we have our challenges, but we are not defined by them.
When I stand behind the coffee bar and talk with members of our community, I see a diverse group of people working hard to uplift Jamestown. They inform, educate, and take action toward revitalizing and improving our city, advocating for a better future. Just to name a few examples: enrollment at Jamestown Community College is up, the Jamestown Public Market is flourishing, we have a thriving arts community, and many nonprofits are working tirelessly to address critical social issues.
Our downtown businesses also bring something special to the city. I love shopping at our local retailers, each offering unique, high-quality items that can’t be found elsewhere. If you’re in the mood for a local meal, our restaurants offer a wide variety, from vegan and vegetarian dishes to full-service bars with menus that everyone can enjoy. I’ve personally met many of these business owners, and they are the heart of our community—passionate about what they do and about Jamestown.
I love the people here, many of whom I call friends or admire for the positivity they bring when talking about our city. There’s a vibrancy in our downtown, created by phenomenal people, and I believe in our continued growth and resilience.
